Originally launched and established in the 70’s, Equipment’s menswear-inspired shirts became a worldwide success, maintaining the perfect balance of cool and understated elegance. Drawing inspiration from American films of the 50s, from style muses such as Katherine Hepburn and Lauren Bacall, the Equipment collection features modern, androgynous silhouettes, discreet sex appeal, luxe fabrics, unexpected details and feminine riffs on men’s shirting. Equipment was re- launched in 2010 by Serge Azria, CEO and creative director of Joie and Current/Elliott. The new collection recalls the classic, minimalistic undertones of the Equipment brand, fusing unparalleled French sophistication with an air of effortlessly chic, California style. With a prominent presence in some of the most prestigious retail locations around the world including Barneys, Harrods, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harvey Nichols, Equipment can be found in the closets of the finest women.
Fall 2012 marked the launch of Equipment’s sweater collection. A natural progression for the brand, the sweaters are the perfect counterpart to the Equipment shirt—a timeless classic and wardrobe staple.
